Happy day after Thanksgiving!
Just chillaxing here at the ol Outer Banks. I can say that I have done absolutely nothing since last Sunday and I don't feel the least bit guilty. I have to say though that there are too many lucious snacks hanging out around here calling out my name. I have to be strong and resist. I have so far lost 43 pounds and I don't want to visit those pounds again. Luke is enjoying his vacation too...toe dips in the Atlantic and collecting enough feathers to build another gull. Off to Manteo for some shopping!

I think that we made the right decision with changing afterschool. He seems to be in better spirits now but he is still behaving like a little madman! Geesh. It could be that he doesn't feel good. I found out recently that he has a hernia. I noticed that he was looking different and so we took him to the pediatrician who quickly diagnosed it as a hernia. So Monday we go to the specialist and will schedule the surgery date. He doesn't know that he is having the surgery yet. I'll know more details next week. Keep us in your thoughts.

kindergarten woes

Mr. Bear's attitude is changing for the worse. They have a behavior system with 4 faces: happy, straight, sad and a crying face and Luke has come home with several straight ones and a sad one. I think that he is acting out because of the afterschool. We are trying a new afterschool program Monday and hopefully that will help.
The good news is that he is writing. It was so cool to see a sentence that he wrote. Very Cool!

Kindergarten!

It's official...my baby is a Kindergartner! Luke started school on Tuesday. He was all smiles :)
I am so proud of him.
The school staggers the Kindergarten classes so Luke went on Tuesday, was off today and will go back tomorrow. Tonight at dinner he asked me if I was going into school with him. I asked if he wanted me to and he was very adamant in telling me that he did not want me to go and that he knew what to do. Alrighty then. Mr. Bigshot!
I am relieved that he is cool with all of this. I think that I am better now but the last day of daycare was really hard for me. We had been with them since Luke was 6 weeks old. They had become a part of our family.
We finally took a mini-vacation and went to the beach. Of course I did not take one single picture. But here is a classic first day of school shot!
