a lot better...but the bear feels sick

An oldie from this summer..Shopping at Trader Joe's.
The bear came down with a bug early Saturday morning. He and I spent the entire day on the couch snuggling, watching movies and snoozing. He is better today.

Shout Hooray!

The tree is decorated-hooray!

The cards are addressed-just need to be stamped and mailed-hooray!

A couple of presents need to be purchased-hooray!

The stockings are hung by the chimney with care-hooray!

The birthday cake has been ordered for Tuesday-hooray!

Luke is all better! HOORAY :)

Luke finally decided that he wanted a dinosaur party. We found dino party supplies at the dollar store-by luck- and today I ordered a birthday cake. I know that I could make one but I think this might be easier. This year will be a simple affair. It is so tough to have a party with the school friends this time of year. Maybe when he is in school next year we can do something in the spring or summer. We'll see.

well crap

That is kinda how I've felt all day. It is cold and cloudy and I can't get motivated to do anything. The house is a wreck. The Christmas tree is still in the carport and well, crap crap crap! I feel better...

So a recap on the November festivities.
We had our traditional Thanksgiving at the Outer Banks. Now that was a great time. The weather was awesome and the shelling was superb. I found lots of goodies on the beach. I am ready for next year already :)

Luke's birthday is approaching fast-December 23. The bear is turning 5. I can't believe that my baby is going to be five! He doesn't seemed to be concerned about a party. Everytime I ask him about it he just shrugs. I guess Christmas is more his thing this year.

I am waiting for my photos to upload so I make my cards. One more thing to check off my list of things to do...

What's going on...

All is fine in the Caterpillar house. Way, way, way back around Labor Day Luke and I had a little adventure. We really wanted to go to the beach but due to a conflict of schedules we couldn't get time off or some crap like that so Luke and I decided to take a mommy-son road trip to Carolina Beach. Just the two of us! We had a blast. We got there around noon and checked into the hotel and hit the beach. We played and then had dinner and went back to the beach. The next day we got up early and hit the beach for a while, swam in the pool and then headed to the aquarium.

After that we found a great spot and spent the rest of the day on the beach. Since time means nothing on vacation we lost track of it big time and when I finally asked someone what time it was it was a time that Todd thought we would be home!
It was so much fun!

Another fun mini-trip was to the NC Zoo. Let me say that we belong in the zoo. No, really...we are members for a year :) It's a great deal. We get membership to the zoo, free admission to the three aquariums in NC and free admission to other state's zoos too.

Other than our mini-vacation and day trip that is about all that has been going on in the Caterpillar house.

I do have a new stove and washing machine-Whoo Hoo!

It is so nice to being able to cook on all four burners ;) My other stove was down to three and sometimes those were iffy.

It is finally feeling like autumn now. It was like 89 degrees last week. Geesh! Its nice, but I am ready for sweaters, apple cider, hot chocolate and hearty soups. I think that this time of year brings out the baker in me. I've already dug out my pumpkin muffin recipes and soup recipes.
Speaking of recipes...I bought a copy of the Food Network magazine. Have you read through it yet? I flipped through it but haven't really read it. I might have to give some of them a try.

I hope to get some pictures on flickr soon. I haven't uploaded anything in like a year. I am so behind!

Happy Fall Y'All!
